This is a page where I will put info about our rabbitry and family.

7/8/10

I am thrilled to have introduced the Harlequin breed to our barn!!! There are very few Harlequin breeders in the surrounding states. I hope to get more breeders in the area into the breed. The rabbits are so beautiful and have such a unique color. I am currently working to have more Harlequins brought in from the Northeast to further my herd.

Our spring show season is over and our bunnies (& us) are getting a much needed rest. We are all very happy with the results of our spring season. DS's Star shown the brightest for us this year. She is one of the few not getting much rest. She has three week old kits on her at the moment. She has two cute little kits, a bkn orange and a bkn frosty. I plan on pulling the kits as soon as possible to allow her to have her much deserved break. The rest of the does are resting and we will start breeding again in about a month.

We have a lot of 2 1/2 month old kits for sale and a few adult Holland Lops too. Let me know if I can help you find something just right for you.

5/25/10

We have had lots of babies born this last month. I have updated pictures on the for sale page of them and listed which ones I expect to be for sale and which ones we plan on keeping. We had 18 Holland Lop kits and had 6 Netherland Dwarf kits born. We had a wide variety of colors with our Hollands. I am so happy to see so many dilutes! Also, I am thrilled to have gotten several kits out of our old doe Eunice. I am hoping that the doe will make a great replacement for her. She even has the same pattern. I am excited about some of DS Star's kits too. Star has done so good for Lilly this last year and it would be great to have an offspring as wonderful as her.

Since the kids are getting older and are taking over their rabbits more and more, I have decided to get my own breed. I looked at all the breeds and fell in love with Harlequins. Unfortunately, there are not any breeders nearby that have them. I am talking with several breeders out of state in hopes of getting some in my barn soon. I can't wait!

We have one more show this spring before summer break. We will be attending Muskogee, OK show this weekend. If you want to buy a rabbit and need it brought to OK that would be a prefect time to do it free of charge.

4/27/10

A lot has happened in the last four months. Most exciting was Lilly got her first BOB with DS Star in February at Neosho, MO against 52 other Hollands!! What a show!! DS star has won several BOS this last year and spring and we are very proud of her. She also won BOS at Skiatook, OK in March after losing her kits 4 days earlier. DS Star had kits again this week but I hope to foster them out so she will be ready to show in May.

On a sad note, we lost V&V's Henryetta on Feb 15th of old age. She produced many wonderful offspring that have gone on to win many awards. Unfortunately, we received her late in life and never got any offspring out of her. I am very thankful to Ann of D&A Rabbitry for selling me a grand-daughter from her. Her lines runs close to several of my rabbits and will fit in great!

In the first of March, we lost Style's Elias from choking on his food and water. He was one of my favorite herd bucks and will be greatly missed. He was a very nice buck but had two pulled nails that kept me from showing him.

In the end of March, we lost another sweet girl, AC's Miriah from birthing problems. She was my favorite herd doe and I have several kits in my barn from her. She was a beautiful squirrel doe that threw nice kits. She always liked special attention (and normally got it) and had a special place in my heart. She will be missed dearly.

We have had several litters of kits born recently. NDSophia Rose had 3 chestnuts to Tex. ND Rockin Robin had a tort, chestnut, and a orange to Ghost. HL Darlynn had  a squirrel, opal, and a sable to Tootle Doodle, (lost the squirrel). This week HL Star had 3 kits to Maxwell, HL Eunice had 2 kits to Cheddar, and HL Akia to Virgil, HL Yasmine to Toodle Doodle, HL Maybel to Maddax, and HL Tiff to Mr. Nibbles are due at any time.

Sophia's black otter buck, Rocking Robin's two chestnut does, and Maybel's solid orange doe and bkn orange buck are doing just fine.

Soon after my last post we had several litters due. The only survivors are a little tort buck out of HL KT and Zorro and a bkn buck frosty out of Charollettee and Elias. Two weeks later, we had several litters totaling about 15 kits. Unfortuatly, the weather got too cold at night and the does hogged all the heat from the heat lamps pushing the kits aside. We lost all 15 kits.

Sophia Rose should had kits next week bred to Black Jack.

I hope to bred all my does I am not taking to the Neosho Feb show this next week. Keep your fingers crossed. I am going to be using my younger first time bucks for the most part so we will see what happens.

I hopefully have all the bugs out of the website finally and posted new pics of everyone. Enjoy!!

Around the first of the month.

ND Sophia Rose, chin doe had several kits in a nest on the wire. I was not home that day so only one survived. It is a black otter. Doing a great job!

ND Rockin Robin had three kits. Two healthy chestnuts and one peanut. Can't seem to get anything but chestnuts out of her no matter what I breed her too.

HL orange Maybel had four kits to bkn cream Mr. Nibbles.  One solid orange and three bkn oranges. Sophia Rose is fostering one of them for her.

Almost all of the other does in our barn will be having kits in the next few weeks. Yippee!!

10/27/09

2 of Mariah's kits have survived, a chestnut buck and a squirrel doe. Lost 1 squirrel kit because it got on the wire when it was cold out. They are both very cute, especially the squirrel doe.

I have several does that should have kits in the next week or so. My new ND chin doe I got last month will have kits this weekend so wish her luck!

Sadly, we lost Lilly's beloved special pet bunny Twinkle Star this week. There had been something wrong with her back and she went paralyzed. Poor Lilly is heartbroken. Twinkle Star was one of her first and most loved bunnies. She will be missed very much. :-(
